Om Shanti Om, is Sanskrit, for invoking Peace. Om is the seed sound for the third eye center, or the space between the eyebrows. It is believed that this is where the masculine & feminine energies meet.  Shanti, is Sanskrit for Peace. 

According to the Sanskrit mantra scholar, Thomas Ashley-Farrand, "Shanti means peace in a dynamic sense: not just an empty shell, but a powerful & active peace that radiates outward." By chanting this mantra it is believed that we are soothing our emotions & creating positive vibrations to balance the masculine & feminine energies within.
